how to buy products in US from India?

May 25, 2010 - 3:31 pm 1 Comment

I have my friend in us now and I want him to bring me some electronic goods when he comes back. I want to pay online for the goods and give his address as shipping address. If I pay with my credit card, my bank is charging 3% transaction charges. I want to avoid this. How to do that? how to pay in us dollars with current day’s exchange rate without any extra charges?

You can send the money via regular mail.

There is no way to escape a charge inasmuch as at some point, some institution is guaranteeing responsibility for the money in transit. This is the case even with a wire transfer. Too, you are asking for special treatment for services rendered by financial institutions. I find that peculiar as we all have to endure the costs of doing business.

What is a good quality electronic drum kit to get for cheap online? ( That is semi-small)?

May 25, 2010 - 3:30 pm 1 Comment

I have been playing around on the drums 4 about a year and I wanted a nice kit for my birthday or christmas that is small and affordable. I was thinking about the "Roland HD-1 V Drum Lite Electronic Drum Set" but I dont know if this is a good idea or not. Have any suggestions of a good kit or set that is cheap?

You could get a Alesis DM6 Electronic Drum Set. You can get it off of musiciansfriend for 400-500 dollars. Roland is also a good choice though the Roland HD-1 V’s pedals dont get you used to the feel of a real bass drum pedal.

You should search musiciansfriend.com because it has lots of great prices

Is Circuit City better now that its an online electronic store?

May 15, 2010 - 6:17 pm 1 Comment

Is it cheaper? back when they existed as a store they used to sell electronics but their prices where higher than what they were actually worth.

The Circuit City of today is not the same one that went out of business. This company purchased the site and now they sell cheaper electronics along with name brand stuff.
It has been doing well and they are looking into opening actual stores. So they must be doing well. Let us hope that they don’t follow the same path that the first one did.

Would electronic goods be cheaper in Singapore?

As a rule of thumb, electronics > $500 would be cheaper in Singapore.

Well I am happy to make some introductions. I know 2 reliable suppliers of auto parts, and a few people who handle electronic goods (depending on what you are ordering though).

Send me a message telling me some details of what you are looking for and i can introduce you to some people.

Bargain Electronic Store in Van Nuys, or SOCAL area?

May 3, 2010 - 10:42 am 2 Comments

I was told that there is a really good electronic store somewhere in Van Nuys that sells consumer electronics for a cheap price. I have been researching in yahoo yellow pages and I couldn’t find it. The person who told me about it, I have no way of contacting him again.

Any hints?? It’s not a well known store like Fry’s, Radioshack, Bestbuy etc….

I am on a hunt for a 42" 1080dp tv for less than $600

Sony and Toshiba 40" 1080p LCDs cost about $600 @ Fry’s. Might not need to search for that unknown store after all.
