Where can I buy cheap electronic goods in Paris?

September 15, 2009 - 10:14 pm 2 Comments

Surcouf is the largest electronics store in Europe. It is in the 12th arrondissement at 139 rue Daumesnil.

If you are from America, it’s usually cheaper to buy electronics in America though.

Visiting Malaysia in early June. I wud like 2 buy some Electronic goods (Camera, Laptop, etc.) Suggestions ?

I would enter Malaysia by bus and exit from an airport. Is there an option to redeem GST (local taxes) at the airport similar to other countries?
In countries like Singapore, the GST can be claimed on counters at the airport. This way, tourists can get stuff cheaper by 5-7%

Low Yatt Plaza at Bukit Bintang is great.
But you better bring a local to do the talking for you or they will give you the special ‘mat saleh’ prices. They are as rasist as hell…..

Prices of electronic goods at Singapore Airport?

September 12, 2009 - 2:30 am 1 Comment

Hi, In another 3 weeks i’ll be flying from mebourne to Bangalore with a transit of 4 hrs in Singapore. I wanted to buy few electronic goods such as a
1. Digital Camera
2. ipods
3. Cellphone(Nokia/iphone)

Do you think it will be cheaper to buy in Changi Airport or in Australia itself? Please advice.

Airports, including Changi are rarely good places to buy electronics. If you have time and don’t require a visa to leave the airport, try Sim Lim Square in Singapore. It’s only about 30 minutes from the airport. You should be able to get an idea of prices in Singapore and Australia on the internet.

Stileit came to TechCrunch as an Advanced Affiliates Application

1. This is an information search and product recommendation system nobody has ever thought of; it provides image-based search model while existing search engines rely on text-oriented search methods.

2. Fast image processing speed; equipped with partial 3D functions, it is faster than 2D.

3. Versatility; This technology runs the whole gamut of usage: fashion, online communication, creation of avatar, preview of hair style in hair salons, electronic goods, automobile, house, interior, landscape, urban planning, to name a few.

4. Web 3.0 technology; web 3.0 is a mode of information provision through artificial intelligence and our application duly corresponds to this model.

The Ghoulish Goods of Halloween Pt.10

August 23, 2009 - 5:28 pm 25 Comments

Ignore the part with my dog at the end – he’s fine. I didn’t think he would care. He likes toys so that’s how this whole thing got started. I thought it was funny how little he cared about the other items. The hand moving on this bowl scared him a little however. I really didn’t think it would.

His “hiding” was an exaggeration on my part. If you just look at what happens, he isn’t terrified. He was simply startled a bit to see the hand move, and then went elsewhere. We’re all a little cautious around things we don’t understand. That’s all that happened. The dog is absolutely ok, and so I figured it was ok to show it.

I don’t spend my time just trying to scare him, I care about him very much and I treat him well. I suppose showing that part of the video was a misjudgment, but I hoped everyone would know that it wasn’t a big deal. That’s essentially all anyone has commented on however. Don’t worry about it.

Can anyone buy electronic goods from the wholesaler or do you?

August 23, 2009 - 12:25 pm 3 Comments

have to be a business like hmv

In order to buy wholesale you generally need to have a registered business or buy from a wholesaler who is "open to the public" which essentially means they are a retailer with cheap prices.

customs value of used electronic goods?

August 21, 2009 - 2:13 pm 1 Comment

I am moving to USA and I wonder how much value should I put down to the my used home cinema, it’s not selling for 1/4 it’s value. I understand US customs dont tax if you are moving home but how do I prove the length of ownership as I have lost the reciepts three years ago

It’s only going to be a problem if you have 30 identical items in brand new unopened boxes ..

Check the Mfg. date on the label on the back == it’s a good indicator of age.
