custom duty on stuff ordered to India?

March 1, 2010 - 12:12 am 1 Comment

i was thinking of redeeming something from lockerz, so just wanted to be sure about the custom duties on electronic items in India?
Secondly, lockerz send the redeemed good as a gift, so do i need to pay any duties for a gift??
all the questions from INDIA.
thank you.

One has to pay customs duty even on gift goods. Take an example of Cricket player Tendulker’s Ferrari car. It was a gift to him. Still he has to pay around 62 lakhs.

Regarding the custom duties, see Customs web site. The link is given below .

I mean they more interested in doing other things like entertainment, horoscope, page 3 etc.
the newsreaders are more interested in good looking than in subject.

They might be if rupert Murdoch doesn’t buy them.

is vapours electronic cigarette available in delhi good enough to buy?

January 15, 2010 - 8:11 pm 1 Comment

i have heard about vapours electronic cigarettes which sells in delhi and north india. has anyone tried it. is it worth going for. there site is www.vapours.in

Hello Rahul,

pretty much all e-cigs are manufactured in China and the technologies are similar. This site seems to offer products that are also readily available in the US. I don’t know how good the nicotine liquid is or what the flavors are but it should all work.

You can compare prices to e-cigs listed here and some brands (Safe Cig, Vapor King, Cirrus) also ship international.

I think every smoker should try to switch to e-cigarettes.

I’m electronic engineer. I can tell you EE is not an easy field to study. You should have a strong mathematics base, because most of courses are about mathematics. You should be creative, because the electronic elements are few, but how you put them in order is something that could be new. And about the Micro Controller, almost every thing in this world that needs to be controlled , uses one kind of Micro. The programing of micro is not as important as connecting it to other thing, and that’s why, as common, computer engineers are not good at this part.

could you please suggest where i should do my engineering?

What will be the scope for Electrical & Electronic Engineering in the year 2015?

November 7, 2009 - 4:00 am 3 Comments

Actually I am an Engineering student doing my EEE in a well-known college in India. I want to know about the scope for EEE in the future, i.e., by 2015. Will I get a good job? In India there is no scope now for EEE. Will there be good scope for EEE in foreign countries like US, Gulf, …?
And also I want to work in great companies like nVidia, Intel…
I want to create something like xbox 360’s Project Natal. So after doing my B.E. what should I do for my M.E. What you tell for M.E. should have a very good scope by 2015. And please explain me how, I’m now totally confused and afraid whether my future would be spoiled, Plz HELP>>>>

Robotics! Autonimous vehicles are being designed for use in the ocean for exploration, weather prediction, even survelience and inspection of structures. The same is true for land, air, and outer space. One must know electronic design and artificial intelligence data gathering and programing.
