I need to take my ps3 for repair i need to find a good electronic shop in manhattan?

MY PS3 PLAYS MY DVD MOVIES BUT WON’T PLAY MY GAMES

Sounds like a Blu-ray Disc laser problem, which means it would play DVDs, but not Blu-ray movies or games.

The only electronic shop I would recommend is Sony. Your PS3 can be repaired by other companies, but Sony is the only authorized repair facility for the PS3: http://playstation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/playstation.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=106&p_sid=dVTNMJKj&p_lva=1212

Shops that sell Infrared Illuminator/LEDs?

October 24, 2009 - 9:56 am 2 Comments

Does anybody know any good surveillance/electronic shop in Singapore? Could either be local online or offline shop. I am not sourcing for a surveillance camera but am looking for a shop who kind of sell Infrared illuminator lamps and infrared LEDs. And I need to know the LED’s specifications well like its wavelength, angle, etc.

I have looked almost every shop in Sim Lim Square and Tower but many do not know the specifications of the IR LEDs/lamps they are selling. Online shops that states all the specifications are usually overseas ones and the shipping fees are high.

thanks!

The last time that I was in Singapore was in 1968 on leave?

Who does regulate the website name in the UK?

October 24, 2009 - 9:56 am 1 Comment

I found a scam website selling electronic gadgets, but they does not exist. Unfortunately their website uses co.uk which makes people think that they are a good shop.
So if I want to report the misuse of the co.uk, to whom should I report?

Firstly you should find out who the .co.uk domain belongs to. You can do this by visiting http://www.who.is/. Then type in the address and all the details of the owner should come up. You should then contact the person directly, whilst keeping all copies of any correspondance which you send, should this be used in a court.

Under the registrar sector of the who.is results page it will show you who the company registered with. You should aslo contact this company explaining that they are in breech of the terms and conditions of their policies by commiting fraud. Be sure to demand a response on what action they are willing to take and get this in writing.

Finally visit the Nominet website who is the governing body for all .co.uk sites. They will be able to help you further however they never take on any cases unless you show that you have attempted to contact the owners directly.

Hope this helps

If I can only go to one place for quick shopping in Singapore, where would it be?

I need a place to buy various items such as souvenirs, food, clothes and electronic products? Where would be the best place to see them and buy them at the cheapest possible price? If possible, please provide directions? I’m hearing that Mustafa and Sim Lim are good?
Is Mustafa the cheapest place to buy electronics?

Mustafa Centre gets my vote. Open 24/7. 6 levels of stuff in 2 buildings, ranging from groceries to jewellery to the latest camcorders. A store with integrity. Prices competitive with any body. The only downside is the presentation of the goods. A bit cluttered, but does anybody care?

is thanks giving week a good time to visit boston for a shoping trip?

my family and i are planning a shopping spree in boston. we live in Ireland and we are tryin to pick a date. we were thinking about arriving the day after thanks giving but after hearing some scary stories about black friday were not so sure….are all the shops crazy with crowds or is mainly the electronic shops?

It is all of the shops and most of them are like that all week long….. now I am talking about the craziness of huge lines out the door, messy stores, people pushing and cutting in line.

The scary robbery and shooting storys, I have only heard two of those and they were both at electronic stores

How long can highstreet bookstores compete with online shops for?

October 18, 2009 - 2:21 am 6 Comments

A book that costs £8 pounds, in a highstreet bookshop, can be purchased on Amazon for 1p! (£2.76) inc P&P). The same goes for electronic goods and other consumables. This gulf in prices must massively impact upon the profit margins of the non-internet stores.

So how long will the highstreet store be able to compete with websites like amazon for?

I hate shopping, except at hardware and bookstores. It’s a man thing.

On this side of the pond, Boarder’s is up for sale — it’s a posh big box book store chain complete with inside coffee shops, and had a huge operation. Barnes & Noble is similar, but bigger. They started with mail order and catalogs, but now have a huge web presence, and will probably survive because of that.

There’s something adventurous about browsing the collections of a real brick-and-mortar mom-&-pop bookstore. Something new and unusual will usually jump out at you from the shelves, that the robots on Amazon would never suggest.

Times change, it appears.
