they sell a policy called an HO-4. wich is a contents policy for a tenant occupied dwelling. if you buy this type policy be sure to check with your agent to see if there are any limitations on electronics.

Electronic goods sell well on eBay, but the finishing price for the same item can vary by 25% or more! You can search for the items you are planning to sell and tick the "view completed items" tickbox. This will tell you the finishing price it went for or whether it sold (prices in green show the item sold and prices in red show it didn’t sell at the advertised price). With eBay you have a choice to start at a low price and then let the people bid it up, or set a reserve price or set a "buy it now" price. You don’t say where you are from but there is an online site that is free to advertise on called www.gumtree.com so you could advertise you equipment at a fixed price and people will contact you if they are interested in it.

The USA doesn’t care what you export in your luggage – most US airlines depart their international flights from their domestic terminals, and you are therefore not inspected any differently than a domestic passenger. That said, they are looking for cash, so don’t try and bring hundreds of thousands of dollars in currency through screening unless you want a very long night. Of course, how you declare your bag of electronics when you arrive in the UK is another story.
