What is a good electronic note taker that will not brake the bank?

I am looking for a touch screen tablet that i can write on with a stylus to take notes inclass instead of on paper. Save paper and save the trees. The iPad is $500 and 58 days away. I am looking for something cheaper than that but is also good. If i should get the iPad, the pogo sketch is going to be my stylus, ut i would not want to spend that much for that little.

Try a tape recorder they are cheap and you could record the entire lecture and then you could write down what you need for notes in plain englishj in stead of chicken scratch and youll actually be able to red your notes ^-^ i hope this helps
