Do you know about the NAFTA Superhighway?
When completed, the highway will run from Mexico City to Toronto, slicing through the heartland like a dagger sunk into a heifer at the loins and pulled clean to the throat. It will be four football fields wide, an expansive gully of concrete, noise and exhaust, swelled with cars, trucks, trains and pipelines carrying water, wires and God knows what else. Through towns large and small it will run, plowing under family farms, subdevelopments, acres of wilderness. Equipped with high-tech electronic customs monitors, freight from China, offloaded into nonunionized Mexican ports, will travel north, crossing the border with nary a speed bump, bound for Kansas City, where the cheap goods manufactured in booming Far East factories will embark on the final leg of their journey into the nation’s Wal-Marts.

I am aware that THIS particular article was written to show that these are "rumours" going around….. HOWEVER…. this matter is NOT a rumour, and our NAFTA Highway is being built right now, as real as day! Ask people in Texas…. this is the real deal…. so do your own research, I merely used this article, because the opening paragraph caught my attention… you can respearch many other "truthful" articles about this matter on your own time.

Good research you did here! Property is being taken away here in TX for this Super High Way. It will kill out all the small towns, because they will not put ramps in for anyone to get to them. It will cost plenty.
If you need to get to a big city and no ramp, you will have to drive many miles to get there. Small towns cannot pay and put in a ramp, I hear the ramps cost a lot and most towns cannot afford to do this.It will cost to drive on this HWY. And not one cent go’s into our country. The land was sold to another country and that is who will be getting the money and will regulate how much it will cost to drive on it.
It looks like to me like a huge wall keeping America split. But that is how I feel. Now I see the jobs Obama is telling us about when he said, he will have jobs for people. To work on the HWY. What a mess!

As a reporter, I have looked at a few articles on this after reading your attached link. 1) this is article is a year old – and it since it was published on the cusp of the presidential debate, there have been no discussions on it to my knowledge. I think this is more of a idea proposed by a group of socialists who might want to scare people.
I can only say that over the past year, president elect Barack Obama and his running mate John McCain (along with Senator Hillary Clinton – before she dropped out of the campaign) the issue have been the war in Iraq, government bailouts, rebuilding the economy and repairing foreign relations.
I think if this issue had real substance and validity, our leaders, along with other world leaders, would have discussed it in depth during the presidential debates about foriegn policies (of which I unfortunately had to watch each of them ugh).
Interesting theory though!
