This is what your house look like without China!

Pretty much everything you wear, everything you sit on, everything you look at, everything you type into or talk into was probably made in China.

Made in China labelTake it all away and what would you have left? Let me know. (To make this point, an American journalist, Sara Bongiorni, recently wrote a book A Year Without Made in China about her efforts to live without Chinese-made products. She found it pretty tricky.)

China makes around 80% of the world’s photocopiers, 65% of the world’s mobile phones, 60% of its digital cameras, 50% of its computers and 45% of its microwaves.

This has a huge effect. It’s thought that Chinese-made products save the average shopper in the UK hundreds of pounds a year. Chinese production and Chinese spending mean that people in the UK get cheap goods and low interest rates. So we are all coming to depend on what happens in this country.

    It’s amazing what …
It’s amazing what happens when one does not buy Chinese Made Crap. The Chinese crap is so poorly made and with the cheapest materials. A vast majority of Chinese items have died and have been buried in “Mt Trashmore”. Items are being replaced with older rummage sale and Goodwill items . Made in China means garbage.

    The rest of the …
The rest of the world is competent to produce its own domestic metals, plastics, leather, cotton and all other raw materials used to make products. We did not depend on China for those things just a few years ago, and if Chinese production were interrupted, we could continue by increasing domestic production. Right now a major problem for the US and other countries is a massive trade imbalance with China.

    Slavery is …
Slavery is forbidden on paper? Does that mean it doesn’t exist? The people in China are payed mere pennies compared to the dollars payed to American workers, and for the same work. IF they are payed at all. Do a Google search for “Slave Labor in China Sparks Outrage” and read Time’s June 2007 article about slaves working 18 hour days in brick kilns, including children and mentally handicapped individuals.

    audio is distorted …
audio is distorted cause that program for recording videos isnt working properly or whatever is wrong, not because camera is made in china. this video is from some news agency, bbc news maybe, I can recognize reporters voice.

    slavery is …
slavery is forbidden in china if you havent heard yet. I’m wondering which biased, brainwashed person told you about slave labour. fox news?

  9. HolySpringRolls Says:

    there is enough …
there is enough soul in my sweet and sour sauce made in china. its all in your mind, a placebo effect. if you wouldnt know which things are made in china, you would still think “oh, they have soul and quality”. asus pda I have works fine. looks like there is quality in it.

  10. HolySpringRolls Says:

how do you know the …
how do you know the metals and plastic in the things you use isnt from china? who is mining iron ore for your steel? who is pumping oil for your plastic? who is mass breeding cows and pigs for your leather? who is growing cotton for your clothes? china is the largest cotton producer.

most of my stuff is from japan…. sony, toshiba….sorry to break that to ya.

  13. ccoraxfan Says:

We had all of these …
We had all of these things long before the «Made in China» label started to appear everywhere. Instead of China, our products were made in USA, Japan, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Canada, Australia, and many other places around the world. Now everything comes from China, but unemployment is up all over the world in the places that used to make all our stuff, while China steals our designs and manufactures them with slave labor and inferior quality. For shame!

  14. EthanJM Says:

    Nope, without china …
Nope, without china there would be products with more soul and quality. They dominate the markets because they copy the innovators and sell their products for less. China is dirty.

  20. Capt777harris Says:

    Before those things …
Before those things were made in China, they were made in Japan and the United States. Think of how China used to look merely 30 years ago. China needs us, the United States, far more than we need them.

    Don’t forget it.
