I’m looking for a small electronic device that monitors how much distance I’ve ran in and how much time it

took? Is there a such device out there I can get a sporting goods store? any suggestion/recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking to spend no more than 30 bucks though!

Hello,

The best products out there are the GarminForerunner series. They start around $100 and go up from there. They’re well worth it (check out the product reviews below). I’d hold off and save up for one. Good luck!

You need a Garmin product. The forerunner is good but I think the price may be more money. Try Wiggle.co.uk

Well if you have a nano ipod you can get a "nike sports kit" to go with it and it has a chip for your shoe and a receiver thing for your ipod. It tracks your distance, gives you splits…etc. Then when you plug your ipod in to your computer it automatically sends your information to nikeplus.com and keeps track of overall miles, etc. This is what I use and I love it!! It costs about $30 and you can get it at some sports or electronic stores or at this website: http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/advancedSearch/?module=topNav&action=keywordSearch&search=k&keyword=nike+plus+ipod+kit

You can either buy a special nike shoe to hold the chip, or you can go to http://www.shoepouch.com and buy a little pouch ($8) that ties to any running shoe. And then there is an armband (on the same website as the kit) that you can buy to hold the ipod/reciever while you run, but that’s extra…

There is also a website I use, well actually two websites: http://www.myfavoriterun.com is a site where you can map routes and then know distances etc. The only thing is they have to be on roads….it doesn’t work "off road". I also use the training log from runnersworld.com (http://traininglog.runnersworld.com/logs/106b788e0bf14015a39164c749ce131f). You can map routes there too, and it also keeps track of your distances, pace, averages, and everything.
