How much will the new 3g iphone cost (8g,16 g) in Australia?
I’m confused?
Is it true that the iphone will cost $200 US for the 8g? and $300 US for the 16g? How much are they going to cost when they come out in Australia. (without a plan with optus, telstra, ect.) unlocked?

Where can i get one? (good guys, dicksmiths, other electronic stores?)

CNET has all the answers

yes at first when you heard that it would be cheaper and only $200 it sounded too good to be true.

but it wasn’t, atleast for australia

read this article, it gives you pricing options and as for the stores that are stocking it, not all stores are. the one that is definantley selling it is telstra in sydney. Gueeess youll have to run around tomorrow.

I work at Allphones. The iphone is not going to be sold "outright" or "unlocked" its $729 on Optus prepaid but then you need to pay $80 to get it unlocked. Even the handsets that will be sold on plans will be locked to the provider as well. As far as we know only Voda, Optus and Telstra will be doing it.

The $200 (8gb) and $300 (16gb) pricing from the US is for the handset on a plan over there.

Few more tips you might wanna know about the iphone:

It does not do MMS (photos need to be done via email)
It has Bluetooth, but this can only be used to connect to wirelss headset/speakers for the car, not to send pictures or songs to other handsets
It does not do MP3 ringtones (alhtough its an iphone!) standard ones on the handset only can be used
